It's my first day in Peru...
... and I've already deduced something quite accurate. The street lanes aren't written in the Peruvian code of driving to be followed; they're more like guidelines. Riding in traffic will most likely take the most adjusting, but surprisingly, I wasn't too fearful in the car. I just wore my trusty seatbelt and rested in the knowledge that God is in control, and these drivers are experienced in this field of driving.
I've now met all the interns, and I'm highly looking forward to getting to know each individual. I know we will be able to encourage one another and bond in these next six months. I'm not quite sure how long all the interns are staying, but I imagine the majority are here for a year.
Tomorrow begins orientation here at SALI. There I'll learn about the intern process and how SALI works.
God was so gracious to me in my travels, as I met some girls in Miami heading toward Peru for a study abroad program. It was nice having some others in the same situation who could sympathize. I managed to get about three hours of sleep on the plane from Miami to Lima, and rested (but moreso got to know Amanda) while we waited for our tour.
I'm so excited about my time here, and I can't wait to share with you all more updates as time progresses!
Prayer Requests:
1. That I may have a restful night's sleep in attempt to catch up on the sleep I lost in the journey over.
2. That I may boldly seek new and encouraging relationships with the other interns.
Grace and Peace

Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated, Annie - I'll be checking in and reading with great interest. May God protect you and keep you...as always you are in my thoughts and prayers. And keep strappin' on that seat belt!
Love, Dad.
Hi Sweetie!
We miss you and keep hoping to see you smiling face just around the corner.
The past week was full of fun and fellowship with family and friends, we missed you but felt you there in spirit! Macoo and Pacoo seemed to enjoy all the festivities and we were going full speed from event to event. Your brothers send their love to you too! We had many photos of all of us over the years and it was fun to see them, especially the ones of you, Ted and Scott growing up.
We miss you much but know that you are on a wonderful journey. Our prayers are that you will experience many new things and grow in your walk with God.
Blessings on your adventures, and keep the updates coming.
Love,
Mom
